What Is a Valorant Tracking Trainer?

A tracking trainer teaches you to hold your crosshair on a moving target smoothly and continuously — no clicking required. The ball moves and you follow it with your mouse, keeping your crosshair glued to it. This is the core mechanic for rifling in Valorant: when an enemy strafes, jumps or peeks, you must track them smoothly rather than flick-click-flick-click. Tracking is what separates consistent rifle damage from lucky one-taps attempts.

How to Improve Your Tracking

Smooth Over Fast

The instinct is to snap to the target. Resist it. Tracking rewards smooth, continuous motion that matches the target's velocity. Overshooting and correcting is worse than slightly lagging.

Match Target Speed

Your crosshair speed should equal the target's speed during the hold. Practice on Easy first to feel the rhythm, then Normal, then Hard's erratic redirects.

Wrist vs Arm

Long smooth tracks favor arm movement; micro-adjustments favor wrist. Use both — arm for the travel, wrist for the fine hold.

Tracking vs Flick vs Reaction

Tracking is continuous crosshair follow for moving targets (rifles). Flick is single-shot acquisition for stationary or new targets (Operator/pistol). Reaction is reflex speed. Riflers need all three but tracking dominates your sustained DPS. Pair this drill with Flick for hybrid aim.

How Long Should You Train Tracking?

10 minutes daily is the sweet spot — tracking is fatiguing and form degrades fast. Split into 2-minute sets with short breaks. Track your coverage percentage weekly; 75%+ sustained on Normal is a strong rifling baseline.
